Definitely a band from the darker side of the enchanted forest, Faeries Wear
Boots delight in stamping their own big boot-print on some of their favourite
folk music and songs from British and Irish traditions.
Like all faerie music, Faeries Wear Boots’ sound is equally enchanting and eerie - gentle and dangerous simultaneously. They come from a world where haunting flutes and didgeridoos mingle with the distinctive sound of the Irish banjo, bodhran and bouzouki, all complimented by the unexpected twist of an electric guitar accompaniment. These faeries particularly enjoy lulling you into a state of pure bliss with a delicate hornpipe, before an unexpected key change lurches the tune head over heels in to a frenzied reel that echoes with the stomping beat of a hundred faerie feet!
2010 sees this excitable band of trooping faeries stronger than ever, with a string of festival performances lined up and a pocketful of new tunes to get Europe dancing! Never the subtlest of bands, you’ll recognise them by their distinctive Celtic tunes, frantic rhythms and (of course) very big boots.
