Hemlock Morris Dancers
Born through the desire of a group of young women in Bedford wishing to dance morris dances, Hemlock has gone against the conventions of ‘male only morris’, hoping to bring a new lease of life to an age-old tradition. Media hype would have you believe Morris Dancing in any form will be extinct in 20 years – well, not in Bedford! We are delighted to be supporting the first Riseley Folk and providing a little 'alternative' entertainment. See us there.. if you DARE!
Formed in Feb 2009, Hemlock Morris are a relatively new side of Morris Dancers. Proud to be Bedford’s ONLY mixed side and members of the Morris Federation, HMD have turned a few heads over the last few years with their energetic music and dance – not to mention their distinctive apparel.
